Here are two other book review by Christians who are much kinder than I:. Nick Norelli :   Nick agrees with me that this is NOT an introduction to Christian theology but, he thinks it is a great place to start for those who know nothing about... Williams is certainly correct here.   It was not scholarly and seemed aimed at established believers but it certainly was not “an introduction to Christian Belief”.   Instead, following the Apostles’ Creed, he fills each chapter with, what I considered, rambling, hackneyed, simplistic arguments, along with confessional, poetic musings on his theology.   I must confess, however, I feel a little bad criticiszing the book of another Welshman....

First, I like to have a variety of books to offer to people who are exploring the Christian faith - modern seekers who are looking to me to offer something more than Scripture quotations to show them the meaning and relevance of Jesus. Williams is the Archbishop of Canterbury which makes him the spiritual leader of the Anglican Church. I just finished Tokens of Trust by Rowan Williams. " However, I do like to write a little something about the books I read, at least to share a little glimpse into what I am reading. I purchased the book when Amazon recommended it because I am always looking for books in the "intro to Christianity" genre. I rarely have the time to give books a thorough enough treatment to really call what I write "a review....
