5 FM, still half-expecting to be The Beat-en halfway out of my car… but, no… it was indeed WSB, coming in clearly on FM. I reset a button for that frequency and there it stays, bringing me live news and weather twice an hour whenever I want or... Imagine my surprise t’other day to strain (as usual) to bring in the news and weather on WSB-AM (750) when interference cut in and made the signal unlistenable. I knew that The Beat was also owned by Cox Communications and utilized this, the former WSB-FM frequency, but I guessed that it was doing reasonably well. Over the years, WSB’s signal in this area has been weakening, probably due to the natural gradual deterioration of the ground system under the tower, which is located across from Northlake Mall on Lavista Road, just inside I-285. Here I start, no cue sheet to hand, to write a ramble about I’ll-figure-out-just-what-when-it- gets-half-written… but I’ve got a good idea going, so stay tuned. Immediately I switched the radio to 95.......

I really want us to remain friends, and I also want to maintain a business relationship because we work well together and our town is small and it’s not like we can each own the same kind of business here. I was honest and straightforward, and I made it as easy as possible by moving out and offering to pay my half of the rent for an extra month or two until he figured the situation out. The guy and I eventually moved in together, and even though he didn’t have custody, we did spend a lot of time with the kids— every other weekend plus Wednesdays plus some holidays, etc. The business is doing pretty well, but we are the only people who work there, which is starting Part of the problem is my guilt and part is that we own a business together....
