Can I put a Hillman Anvenger engine into a Hillman Minx?
I have a 1961 Hillman Minx, it's great, but the piston rings have gone, and it's possibly cheaper for me to just buy a new engine - but there are hardly any of these for sale. So can I put a Hillman Avenger engine into a minx?

I have zero experience with Hillman anything, but I do have a couple of comments:
1) If you do find an Avenger engine and it will fit into a Minx, keep the Minx engine and fix it up. a) It's kinda fun wrenching one yourself, b) you've

Classic Car Hillman Minx | Sixties Britain
The original Minx began as long ago as 1932 as a pressed steel body on a separate chassis and with an 1185cc side valve engine (I haven’t seen a side valve engine for a long time. The basic model was adapted as an estate called the Hillman Husky, a van as the Commer Cob and also used as the base for many other cars from Rootes Group (who then owned Hillman) like the Sunbeam Rapier, the Humber Sceptre and the Singer Gazelle... Believe it or not the Hillman Minx model, both as itself and in the shape of various clones, have been on the British roads since 1932, before production ended in 1970....
